Indie-pop with depth, DIY bedroom, rap-pop, but definitely with proper hip-hop delivery, Kasimp doesn’t care about genre pigeonholes. The singer-songwriter experiments with different sounds and harmonies like few his age do. The 22-year-old likes to talk about the unspeakable, about things that are sometimes perhaps too personal. His lyrics are direct, honest and always put a finger on the listener: „the Queen reigns and we move forward to the doorsteps of our own disgust“. Who pays full attention to his lyrics, quickly realizes, Kasimp has a very unique view of the world and its people.
His career in music became apparent at an early age. Already at the age of fifteen, Kasimp began writing his own songs, and at just sixteen, he began producing. He played in various indie bands for years and has been on stage all his life.
Even then, Kasimp was influenced by bands like the Artic Monkey and Frank Ocean. In his music, driving 808 beats meet synth spheres, electronic indie pop meets hiphop. With his second EP „Flood“, the singer-songwriter released his biggest project to date last year. In complete self-direction he takes over songwriting, producing and promotion. With new music Kasimp is not long in coming: In the collab EP „Law of Vibration“ Kasimp deals with interpersonal emotions together with keyboardist and producer Felix Hien. Currently Kasimp is rehearsing with his band for upcoming live gigs. On Jan. 21, „Autumn“, the first single from „Law of Vibration“, will be released. The EP will follow in June 2022.
